The session involves a total of 26 postures, or asanas. These are done in a specific order and repeated again. The poses are each held for roughly 10 to 60 seconds. The session lasts for 90 minutes. The first twelve poses are standing poses. The others are all done lying on the floor and sitting.



Most mats are made out of a material called PVC. This is great because it sticks to the floor and doesn't slide. But, when you get perspiration on it, it becomes very slippery. If you have a PVC mat, make sure you have a yoga towel to wipe perspiration regularly. A more uncommonly used material, is bamboo. It's not as conventional, but you may want to consider for doing hot yoga.

Despite what this type of clothing you're wearing, remember that nothing is as important as hydration - especially during the hot summer months. Remember to drink water before, after and during your mind body haus session. The heat in the studio and the heat of the outdoors will take their toll on your body if you don't keep hydrated. So water and form-fitting, moisture-wicking clothes. It's that simple!

This is especially true for those who live in very cold climates. Get there at least 10 minutes earlier than the scheduled time of the class so you'll have plenty of time to sit in the hot room. This is necessary for warming up the muscles. As you know, warm ups are very important during workout as they prepare the muscles to minimize injuries. For a quicker warm up, do a few sun salutation poses.
